Socio-Cultural, Humanitarian, Economic & Environmental Impacts (SCHEEI)

Abject Poverty, Hunger and Deprivation: all key factors for social vices and conflicts

Inadequate Medical Staff/Facilities: expectant mothers waiting under deplorable conditions at hospitals

As a Social Enterprise (SE), Kra Integrated Solutions Ltd (Krinsol Ecotours’) social, cultural, humanitarian, economic and environmental intervention actions are hinged on the following thematic pillars:

  • Justice and Peace literacy Advocacy
  • Peace Building and Conflict Management
  • Youth Development, Engagement and Empowerment
  • Undocumented, Irregular and Forced Migration Advocacy
  • Anti-Human Trafficking and Migrants Smuggling Advocacy
  • Integrity, Ethics, Transparency and Accountability Advocacy
  • Wildlife, Biodiversity, Environmental, Natural Resource, Ecological and Marine systems Protection Advocacy

Based on the thematic pillars, Kra Integrated Solutions Ltd (Krinsol Ecotours’) commitments to and social contract with the people as well as communities shall be focused on these five (5) critical issues, all derivatives of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • Education, health and poverty alleviation
  • Peace building, conflict mediation and crisis management
  • Intercultural relations and diversity management skills development
  • Career, professional guidance and employable (technical and vocational) skills acquisition
  • Environmental sustainability, responsibility and natural resource protection (water, sanitation and agriculture)

For the purpose of clarity, internal and external bench marking, better understanding and appreciation of these thematic pillars, we deem it appropriate to provide further explanations:

  • Tourism, travel and hospitality business, products development and marketing, sustainable agriculture or farming training and capacity building for the youth especially, females to facilitate employable skills acquisition, sustainable employment generation within host and indigenous communities. Invigoration of the bottom of the socio-cultural and economic pyramid through stimulation and or promotion of pro-poor touristic social and intercultural relations leisure, educational, recreation and economic activities as an approach with the ultimate goal of contributing to achieving the sustainable development goals relating to education, women, inequality, economy, poverty, food and institutions

Access to Basic Necessities of Life such as Clean and Safe Water: a daily challenge for many households

  • Educate the citizenry and corporate entities to win their hearts and minds on the importance of environmental responsibility, ecofriendly, sustainability, green living, best energy, water, sanitation, waste disposal, usage and or management practices and the devastation caused by climate change at the grassroots level through public education, sensitization, training and capacity building to serve as a catalyst for a Corporate and Communal Sustainability and Green Revolution (CCSGR). This will be achieved through initiating community projects including clean-up at tourists sites/attractions particularly beaches, sustainable farming/agriculture, sanitation, waste disposal/management education, tree planting and other conservation projects/activities with the ultimate goal of significantly driving and playing leading role in achieving the sustainable development goal relating to energy, water, climate, ecosystems, sustainability and marine system
  • Capital investment into the development of social amenities (clinics, schools, water & sanitation etc.) particularly targeted at deprived communities and direct beneficiaries (social, culturally, economically & politically disadvantaged) of our intervention programs, an approach towards contributing to achieving the sustainable development goals dealing with education, health, water, infrastructure and inequality. Additionally, Krinsol Ecotours will facilitate regeneration or rejuvenation of various local and indigenous communities by organizing periodic social and intercultural recreation, leisure, education and sporting activities that will facilitate engaging the energies of the youth into fruitful and life enhancing endeavors and thereby distracting their minds from all kinds of self-destructive, social, culturally and economically unacceptable behaviors. We believe this approach can as well help to achieve communal peaceful co-existence, reduce child delinquencies and crimes
  • The periodic organization of social and intercultural relations programs, aims to promote grassroots cultural diplomacy through intercultural relations competences development and diversity management dynamics to influence social, cultural and behavioral change with the ultimate goal of eliminating all facets of social, cultural, economic and political glass ceilings, prejudices, tokenism and uncomplimentary stereotypes within all spheres of human endeavor for the attainment of equality for self-actualization, determination and development irrespective of gender, ethnic, cultural or religious backgrounds to serve as a catalyst for achieving and maintaining peaceful co-existence, safety and security within all Ghanaian communities.
  • The program is designed for everyone who loves to have fun and be part of the movement to achieve and maintain intercultural, diversity, religious and ethnic understanding, appreciation and friendliness. This is also another approach adopted to drive and assist in achieving and entrenching the sustainable development goals relating to institutions, women, economy and inequality, targeting especially, Ghanaian rural communities where discrimination against females and particularly the girl child is highly endemic

Beneficiaries

Generally, all Social Enterprises (SE) including Kra Integrated Solutions Ltd (Krinsol Ecotours) as human centric pro-poor and environmental sustainability business models derives their strength and legitimacy in the firm believe and principles of re-investing larger percentage of their profits back into community social, cultural, economic development and environmental protection projects with the ultimate goal to provide reliefs and to assuage the social, economic deprivation and suffering of grassroots communities and people primarily targeting the very poor, needy marginalized, minorities, underprivileged and vulnerable.

However, in addition to these basic believes and principles, Krinsol Ecotours will dedicate itself to specially having soft spot for individuals or groups marked as highly vulnerable and marginalized and considered to be minorities such as people with disabilities, mostly confined to the peripherally of social, cultural structures and the economy. These individuals or groups will receive exclusive attention and at all material times will be treated as automatic and or direct beneficiaries.

Besides host communities, Krinsol Ecotours’ interventions focus particularly on the Wassa people and communities geographically located in the Western region of Ghana and generally, every Ghanaian. However, to be able to achieve the short term goals, our pro-poor social, cultural and economic interventionist programs and initiatives will be piloted in the following strategically chosen Wassa indigenous communities or towns:

  • Benso
  • Manso
  • Trabuom
  • Domenase
  • Adum Banso and BOPP Estate

The motivation for penciling out the Wassa indigenous people and communities located geographically in the Western Region of Ghana for assistance emanate from the key factors highlighted below:

  • Abject poverty, poor living standards and conditions of the Western region, Wassa communities and people
  • Lack of social amenities and infrastructure (health, educational facilities, water and sanitation etc.) within these communities due to neglect and deprivation
  • The western region is one of the most deprived and poverty endemic regions within Ghana though highly endowed in natural resources and particularly the Wassa indigenous people and communities are among the highest needs within the region. Ironically, it is within same region that Ghana produces and export oil in commercial quantities
  • The founder, as a native of the indigenous Wassa traditional area and a direct beneficiary of the benevolence of the age-old Ghanaian socio-cultural and economic practices of community sharing and inter-dependencies, which serves as a valuable and reliable socio-cultural and economic safety nets for the needy, poor, underprivileged and vulnerable persons within various communities, consider this as paying back to humanity and an obligatory to assist in uplifting the living standards of the people and communities that provided the inspiration for striving to be compassionate to the plight of the poor, vulnerable, marginalized, needy, minorities and underprivileged facilitating to assist in achieving an impactful socio-cultural, humanitarian and economic good for humanity
