Precious Minerals Expedition (from US$2,980)

Golden Encounters

A response to the curiosity of individuals and groups who still wonders why Ghana, the beautiful and amazing country on the coast of West Africa and south of the Sahara, was named the "GOLD COAST" due to its huge depth of precious stones, out of all the countries of the world by the first European explorers (the Portuguese) to have arrived on this natural resources rich country at the turn of the 15th century.

The package takes precious minerals collectors, admirers and enthusiasts on an extraordinary educational, observatory, exploratory and familiarization tours to ancient and contemporary mining sites, pits, towns, communities, companies, institutions and organizations. It present unique moments to satisfy your cravings for a real sight, touch and feel of gold, diamond, manganese and bauxite. It also includes visits to other extractive minerals industry locations such as salt, oil and gas.

As it is often said, "always better to bear personal experience or witness than to be told".

Come along with us on a journey through the unique geographical location at the center of the earth on the Greenwich meridian, where gold can be found even at the least expected places to understand and appreciate the name "Gold Coast" as Ghana was known before independence.

Ghana’s Gold: the land where gold can be found even at the least expected places

Indigenous Mining: intriguing means of entering and exiting the deep belly of the earth in search of gold

Indigenous Mining "galamsey": livelihoods that threatens ecology, wildlife and water bodies

AngloGold Ashanti Mines: world’s largest and richest gold mines

This package forms part of our social, environmental and natural resource commitments to scaling up public education, information dissemination, sensitization and awareness raising on wildlife habitats, biodiversity, water bodies, ecological, environmental, natural resource, flora and fauna degradation, depletion and pollution caused by indigenous or illegal mining "galamsey" and the extractive industry.

Our drive also fully captures the criminal and blatant child trafficking, labor and exploitation prevailing at indigenous or illegal mining "galamsey" sites and communities.

Through these, we aim to solicit support to implement our alternative sources of livelihood programs for those engaged in unregulated mining, human trafficking especially child trafficking prevention, protection and prosecution, victims assistance and services initiatives and programs.

The tipping point of this expeditions, is the remarkable chance to witness or experience the indigenous way of exploration and extraction of gold and diamond from the belly of the earth or river beds, famously called "galamsey" in local parlance and the effect these activities have on water bodies, wildlife, biodiversity, ecological, environment and natural resources.

Whilst on the grounds, you have the rarest opportunity to not only see or touch, but also purchase a little piece of pure and undulated precious minerals (Gold or Diamond) from the source of extraction, participation in reafforestation and reclamation of degraded tropical forest and lands, cleaning of water bodies and environments as a unique environmental and natural resources protection trophy, souvenir, social confirmation, attestation or oriental ornaments collection as the icing on cake.

This is our clarion call for all domestic and international Eco tourists, environmental and natural resources protection, climate change and child rights campaigners or activists to stand-up to be counted by patronizing this package as it epitomizes the core essence, principles and philosophy of Ecotourism, environmental, natural resources protection, climate change and child rights advocacy and activism.
