Integrated and Holistic Strategies for Mitigating Human Trafficking and Migrants Smuggling (Undocumented, Irregular and Forced Migration)

 

Workshop Originality & Necessity

The phenomenon of Human Trafficking and Migrants Smuggling (undocumented, forced and irregular migration) especially those involving child trafficking, lack of opportunities for self-actualization, development and improvement within immediate environments, corruption, poverty, marginalization, deprivation, illiteracy and inequitable distribution of resources are intrinsically intertwined multifaceted human and minority rights, social, cultural, humanitarian and economic development problems. These challenges, also affects social cohesion, human development, the rights to self-actualization, development and determination, peace, safety and security, a bad situation that has become a blot on the conscience of society.

This not withstanding, critical analysis, monitoring and observation of the various strategies adopted to leverage Human Trafficking and Migrants Smuggling indicates that such programs are concentrated on law enforcement agencies and other few social welfare and services organizations. This ignores other critical stakeholders that can be described as the missing piece in the efforts to curb Human Trafficking and Migrants Smuggling. And it’s imperative to extend training, capacity-building, public education, information dissemination, awareness raising and sensitization programs to all such stakeholders to reverse the pervasive and emerging dangerous trends of Human Trafficking and Migrants Smuggling, and its treats to humanity.

This actionable workshop will offer participants the requisite innovative, applicable and high leverage education, information dissemination, awareness creation, sensitization, training and capacity-building in order to better understand and gain new perspectives on the intricacies of Human Trafficking and Migrants Smuggling to become more productive, effective and efficient in its detection, prevention and response actions.

The workshop introduces a new frontier of methodological and systematic engagement and empowerment of all relevant and key stakeholders particularly, tourism, travel and hospitality professionals, businesses, service providers, other organizations, institutions, departments, agencies, groups, professionals and individuals whose actions or inaction can have greater positive impact or influence on the international efforts to end Human Trafficking and Migrants Smuggling epidemic through the elevation of the productiveness, effectiveness and efficiency of detection, prevention and response actions.

At the interface between volunteerism, active citizenship, cultural and philanthropic enthusiasts, internship, social integration or inclusion, intercultural exchange and dialogue, non-formal education and sustainable pro-poor, needy, vulnerable, deprived and marginalized social, economic, humanitarian and democratic development, environmental, ecological, wildlife and natural resource protection, VIICEEP facilitates travel to Ghana for cultural, educational, internship, volunteer, study abroad, international and/or gap year experience.

This program also provide international onsite/in home country training and teaching of Ghanaian native and indigenous traditional and cultural drumming, dancing, story telling, drama and artistic performance for international schools, groups and community organizations.

It also amplifies mutual respect, acceptance and understanding between cultures, people and communities around the world. VIICEEP further encompasses initiatives that illuminate leveraging of gender, ethnic, environmental, social, cultural, religious and economic barriers, grassroots attitudinal and behavioral change among diverse people, communities and societies.
